From Hotels to Hidden Gems

Jamie Cura, the founder of The Curated Traveller. began his career in hospitality long before this idea took shape, but it’s fair to say it’s where I found my inspiration.

Over the past decade, Jamie has been lucky enough to work with some of Scotland and the UK’s most iconic names in hospitality including The Gleneagles Hotel, The Hoxton, and Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts. Each role taught him something about what makes a stay memorable: design that feels considered, service that feels effortless, and a sense of place that lingers long after you’ve checked out.

But he also saw something missing. Many travellers didn’t know where to start when it came to finding truly special Scottish stays, the kind that feel both luxurious and personal. That’s where The Curated Traveller began.

Our Mission

The goal was simple: to make it easier for people to discover Scotland’s finest properties, without relying on crowded booking sites or chance recommendations.

We curate stays that reflect the very best of Scottish hospitality, not just the well-known names, but the hidden gems, boutique boltholes, and design-led spots that deserve to be seen.

For us, luxury isn’t about price tags or exclusivity. It’s about feeling something. The warmth of a log fire after a coastal walk. A handwritten note on the bedside table. A space that makes you pause and breathe.
